Complex adaptation of existing, small detached dwelling, as part of a wider legal framework.
The existing property was in a dilapidated state and required full strip out and modification prior to addition of large extensions to both front and rear.
Although on a large, prominent seafront site, the existing property and the internal accommodation was restricted. The property was completely redesigned to fullfil the specifc needs of a disabled client and his family.
The completed project included a dramatic remodelling of the existing with glazed frontage and balcony above to maximise natural daylight and sea views. All alterations were completed in a bold, modern but sympathetic manner to transform the usability and value of the property.
Accommodation included a new open plan arrangement with fully accessible ground floor, including large double bedroom and adapted En suite bathroom. Allowance was made for the future provision of hoisting where necessary. A large open plan kitchen was developed to the rear for the benefit of accessible family living, including drop down work surfaces and integrated appliances. Carer’s accommodation was also incorporated with En suite facilities.
PH Partnership completed the full detailed design proposals, including interior design and furniture provision throughout.
The scheme also incorporated a substantial landscaping scheme which offered a fully accessible environment to the whole property including external dirveway, footpaths and circulation with access to a sunken patio area to the rear.
