Specialist Adaptation of a private detached residential property to provide independent living for a young man.

This included wholesale strip out of the existing property and complete redesign of it’s layout specific to individual needs.  Careful consideration was offered to the layout of furniture and surfaces internally to act as transitionary supports for a client who was ambulant with a desire for increased independence.

The project included highly detailed design consideration of specific internal areas such as the bespoke kitchen and bathroom to ensure the room layouts aided and assisted the client in every way possible.  All areas were designed to suit the specific needs of the individual client and encourage independence in their day to day tasks and needs.

The scheme included a new open plan environment with a large new Lounge, Kitchen/Diner with large glazed wall, offering private aspect and level access to the garden area beyond.  Automated door/window systems were also incorporated to aid access, with integrated technology and AV generally throughout to allow the client to enjoy the property independently with the assistance of a live in Carer.

Works included a fully integrated landscaping scheme to offer level access throughout the garden areas and improved vehicle provisions for access and turning.  Also included a protected transfer area and regrading of hard landscaping at all entrance points.

The property development included an integrated interior design scheme tailored to specific client requirements.
